Explaining the Eyebrow Lift

Many patients ask for “Eyebrow lift” with wrinkle relaxing injections.

The muscles A B C D pull the eyebrow down “Eyebrow depressors”. These muscles are also responsible for the 11 lines or “frown lines” in between the eyebrows and “crow’s feet” around the eyes.

Eyebrow is lifted up (temporarily) by the upwards pulling action of Muscle E when Muscles A-D are temporarily frozen by treatment.

Elevation of the eyebrows depend on the strength of Muscle E ..

The desired eyebrow lift (which under normal circumstances is 1-3 mm) can not be achieved if Muscle E is weak or the eyebrow is positioned very low.

So wrinkle injections raise the eyebrows but not unconditionally.
